Designed in Bulgaria
In the heart of our designs is the “шевица” [ʃe’vitza] – a hand-embroidered motif found on traditional clothing and a variety of home textiles all over Bulgaria. We search for authentic motifs in old books, ethnographic museums and private collections, pick our favourites and then reimagine them as contemporary graphics. We redesign and rearrange the figures to match our own understanding of contemporary form, colour and shape.
We do this so that the old figures will be worn as they are supposed to – every day.
Made in Greece
We’ve found the perfect production partners in Greece. All our silk items are made in a family owned factory. Our partners weave the fabric, print on it with high quality made in Europe dyes and finish it with delicate hand-rolled edges.
Packaged and ready to be worn or gifted
Each scarf comes in an individual minimalist carton box with a hot foil stamp on top and a bilingual leaflet inside. The leaflet contains information about the brand as well as the design and production of every individual scarf.
Inspired by abstract figures from the Varna region
We found the motif in “Български народни шевици“ ( Bulgarian National Embroidery ), by E. Todorova, published in 2007
