Designed in Bulgaria
“Kapantzi” is the name of an ethnographic group of Bulgarians who live in several villages in the North-East part of the country. Their embroidery motifs are like no other – minimal, graphic and usually in predominant black colour with red and blue accents.
Our Kapantzi scarf honours the authentic aesthetics by keeping the design monochrome and simple. Instead of the bold black tones, however, we picked a subtle skin tone.
Made in Greece
We’ve found the perfect production partners in Greece. All our silk items are made in a family owned factory with an entirely closed production cycle. Our partners breed their own silk bugs, extract the thread, weave the fabric, print on it and finish it with delicate hand-rolled edges.
Packaged and ready to be worn or gifted
Each scarf comes in an individual minimalist carton box with a hot foil stamp on top and a bilingual leaflet inside. The leaflet contains information about the brand as well as the design and production of every individual scarf.
Inspired by abstract figures from the Kapantzi region
We found the motif in “Български народни везбани орнаменти “ ( Bulgarian Folk Embroidery Ornaments ), by P. Puntew, published in 1977
